PURPOSE: To reduce the operating time of a rotating chute at the time of forming a furnace core coke layer by separately charging a coke into the center part over the coke layer.
CONSTITUTION: After the rotating chute 16 is tilted from the waiting position in the horizontal state to a tilted state having a tilting angle θ in the range of 10-15 degrees against vertical direction, the rotating chute 16 is rotated to the furnace center part, so as to charge coke in the furnace top bunker 10 into the furnace center part, forming the furnace core coke layer 8. While, in conventional way, a coke is charged into the furnace center part with the rotating chute 16 erected vertically being the tilting angle θ=0, the change from that to the range of θ=10-15° reduces the time required for the waiting to tilting positions.
