PURPOSE: To increase the speed of packing in a packing method in which a film is folded double and vertical sealing is applied to an overlapping part on both side ends of the folded film by a method wherein an opening on the front end of a nozzle for filling substances to be packed into the vertically sealed film is reduced down while a number of holes are provided to the side of the nozzle.

CONSTITUTION: A belt-like film F is folded double and is conveyed with its side F1 for vertical sealing held by rollers 37, and both ends of the folded film F are stuck together by heat sealing with a pair of vertical heat seal rolls 10. Then, the film F formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape by horizontal sealing F2 applied with a pair of horizontal heat seal rolls 11 is filled with substances W to be packed by operation of a nozzle 22. In a filling device as mentioned above, the nozzle 22 is formed with a reduced-down opening 38 provided on its lower end while a plurality of holes 39 provided at equal intervals to the entire circumference on its side. Thereby, substances to be packed that are conveyed by the filling device to the nozzle 22 can be scattered to the inside of the film F through the reduced-down opening 38 and the holes 39, and the film can be filled uniformly with such substances.
