Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel engine start control method capable of improving engine startability in a cold start and preventing white plume.SOLUTION: A diesel engine start control method includes, at a cold start of a diesel engine 10: cranking rotation of the diesel engine 10 and forming a lean premixed mixture with fuel to be injected into a cylinder 11c; narrowing down an exhaust system so as to prevent the lean premixed mixture from flowing to the exhaust system and promoting thermal decomposition of the lean premixed mixture by applying a grow heating; applying a main injection to the thermal decomposition-progressed premixed mixture to cause an initial combustion; continuing the aforementioned injection even after the initial combustion; releasing the narrowing down of the exhaust system as engine revolution speed increases; and returning to a normal injection when the engine revolution speed reaches an idling speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
