To provide a stepping motor control device which can reduce fluctuations in acceleration generated at the time of acceleration/deceleration of a rotationally driven inertial load to reduce vibration due to the fluctuations in acceleration.
The stepping motor control device detects the rotational speed of the driven shaft 201a of a rotary developing device 201 by a rotary encoder 204, converts the detected rotary speed to the acceleration speed, calculates the ideal acceleration on the load shaft 201a of the rotary developing device 201 by adding the deceleration ratio of gears 210, 211 from a motor acceleration/deceleration table at the time of acceleration or deceleration of the developing device 201, calculates the acceleration error between the acceleration on the actual load shaft 201a at the time of acceleration or deceleration of the rotary developing device 201 and the calculated ideal acceleration, corrects the motor acceleration/deceleration table corresponding to the calculated acceleration error, and controls the stepping motor 202 based on the corrected motor acceleration/deceleration table.
