Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor board for a Japanese style room, which can be laid in a Japanese style room instead of a tatami and has various merits such as no breeding of fleas and lice, no stirring up of dusts, simplified sweepings, no high maintenance cost and a low initial cost as compared with the tatami and, in addition, has a merits such as soft and warm touches, a safety due to anti-slip properties and no emission of internal secretion disturbing substance in comparison with a floor board for a Western-style room.
SOLUTION: This floor board is laid on the floor of a Japanese style room instead of a tatami. The floor board 5 for the Japanese style room is produced by laminating at least three layer, each of which is formed by cutting off a laminated wood obtained by parallel-board-joining long planks as its length is into the common sizes of the tatami and which are piled up under the condition that their grain directions are alternately changed at right angles to each other. As the material to be used, the employment of a Japanese cedar is recommended.
