Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supercharging assisting system of an internal combustion engine and a supercharging assisting method of the internal combustion engine, capable of suppressing waste consumption of a gaseous mixture while keeping a maximum combustion pressure of the internal combustion engine to an allowable maximum combustion pressure or less by preventing overboosting, and securing necessary amounts of intake air and EGR gas amount, when the gaseous mixture of the pressurized air in a pressure accumulation container and an exhaust gas is used in assisting supercharging.SOLUTION: In assisting supercharging, one or a plurality of pressure accumulation containers 21a releasing a gaseous mixture, are selected from the plurality of pressure accumulation containers 21a, 21b, 21c according to an operating state of an internal combustion engine. When the operating state of the internal combustion engine 10 is in a low rotating speed area R1 in assisting supercharging, supercharging is assisted from one pressure accumulation container 21a among the pressure accumulation containers 21a, 21b, 21c, and when the operating state of the internal combustion engine 10 is in an intermediate/high rotating speed area R2, supercharging is assisted further from the other pressure accumulation containers 21 according to a necessary releasing amount of the gaseous mixture.
