PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength against a shear stress in a support member.SOLUTION: A superconducting electromagnet 10 comprises: a vacuum container 11; a superconducting coil 13 arranged in the vacuum container 11; a support member 15 arranged in the vacuum container 11 and that supports the superconducting coil 13; and at least one of a joint member 20 contacted with the support member 15 and that connects the support member 15 with the vacuum container 11, and a joint member 23 contacted with the support member 15 and that connects the support member 15 with the superconducting coil 13. A thickness T2 at a contact part 21 and/or a thickness T3 at a contact part 24 are smaller than a thickness T1 of the support member 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
