Abstract:
To provide a technology for improving processing while preventing an error from occurring in a printer in an information processing device with an OS standard general-purpose printing program installed thereon.SOLUTION: A PC 1 includes an auxiliary program 42 embedded therein, the program being compatible with a printer 2 and supporting a general-purpose printing program 41 embedded in advance in an OS 21. The auxiliary program 42 registers, on the general-purpose printing program 41, a predetermined file format as a file format for which intermediate data is not generated. The auxiliary program 42 acquires capability information indicating capability of the printer 2 when a print instruction for causing the printer 2 to execute printing is received from an information application 43 and image data of the predetermined file format is received from the general-purpose printing program 41, and transmits a print job including the received image data to the printer 2 upon determination, on the basis of the capability information, that the printer 2 is compatible with the type of the predetermined file format of the image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
