Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent misfire of an engine from being erroneously detected when a vehicle runs on a bad road.
CONSTITUTION: It is judged whether the fluctuation width Δ (ΔNe) of rotational speed and the fluctuation width Δ (ΔPi) of combustion pressure are fluctuated by nearly same fluctuation frequency or not (S8). When the fluctuation frequencies are nearly same with each other, it is judged whether the fluctuation width Δ(ΔNe) of rotational speed is larger than the fluctuation width Δ (ΔPi) of combustion pressure by a prescribed value or more (S9). When the fluctuation width Δ (ΔNe) of rotational speed is a prescribed value or more, bad road running condition of a vehicle is judged (S12), and also misfire diagnosis is inhibited on the basis of the rotational speed or the combustion pressure.
