Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both high hardness and crystal grain refinement, in shot peening which is a simple and inexpensive surface treatment.SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: an induction heating coil 130 for heating a workpiece W; a high-frequency applying device 200 for supplying a high frequency current to the induction heating coil 130 to cause the workpiece W to be subjected to induction heating; an injection nozzle 140 for injecting an abrasive material P toward the workpiece W and cooling the workpiece; and a control unit 300 for heating the workpiece W by supplying the high frequency current from the high-frequency applying device 200 to the induction heating coil 130 to austenitize the workpiece and injecting the abrasive material P from the injection nozzle 140 after cooling the workpiece W to a temperature -110 to -10°C of an A3 transformation point thereof, the control unit supplying the high frequency current to the induction heating coil 130 so as to keep the workpiece W in the temperature.
