Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of satisfactorily identifying characters or indicators of a pattern or the like described in a honeycomb structure before and after the treatment such as supporting of a catalyst.SOLUTION: There is provided a surface treatment method for a honeycomb structure in which a display area is provided by applying a water-repellent oil onto a surface of an outer peripheral wall in a honeycomb structure comprising a honeycomb structural part having a porous partition wall for partitioning a plurality of cells which are flow channels for a fluid and an outer peripheral wall surrounding the honeycomb structural part.
