Title:
The system for supervising a plurality of babies' physiological status
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6066637
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
A system 210 for monitoring the physiological conditions of a plurality of infants in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) includes a plurality of infant care stations 212, each of the incubators 212 including a motion sensor 60 to detect movement of the baby 52, and an internal environmental sensor 58 that detects a first environmental condition (e.g. sound sensor 64, light sensor 62, temperature) of the microenvironment 56 within the incubator. A processor 66 derives an indication of stress of the neonate 52 based on the measured motion and environmental conditions. A plurality of external environmental sensors 214 is disposed about the NICU, wherein each of the external environmental sensors 214 detects a second environmental condition (e.g. motion sensor 216, sound detector 220, light sensor 218, ambient temperature, humidity etc) in the NICU outside the microenvironment 56. A central processor 68 compares signals from the internal environmental sensors to signals from the external environmental sensors 214 and determines a correlation between the first and second environmental conditions, and corresponding levels of stress of the infants 52. Data is displayed on a graphical display 72 (300, fig. 9). Physiological sensors 74 may also be provided in the cribs 212.
