Abstract:
To provide a thick steel plate with adhesion of a scale improved by a novel configuration, and thus useful in laser cutting.SOLUTION: A thick steel plate includes a steel plate and a scale having a thickness of 10-40 μm formed on a surface of the steel plate. The scale includes an FeO layer and a ratio of the FeO layer is 50 vol.% or more to the scale. In the FeO layer of a cross section parallel to a plate thickness direction, granular Fe3O4 having a circle equivalent diameter of 0.3-3.0 μm is dispersed at a number density of 0.10 piece/μm2, or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
