Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a puzzle for forming a number of component units which are geometrically different from each other by joining the units blocks, and assembling a spherical body with the component units. CONSTITUTION: A surface of a spherical body is composed of 32 unit surface elements in total, by combining the pentagonal unit surface elements 1, and hexagonal surface unit elements 2, and the spherical body is composed of decomposable 8 sets of component units α, β, γ, δ, ε, η, κ, μ which can be engaged with each other. The component unit is respectively composed of 4 unit blocks, a side face of the unit block having the pentagonal unit surface element 1, and that of the unit block having the hexagonal unit surface element 2 are closely joined, and they have the shapes geometrically different from each other. A puzzle for assembling various kinds of spherical shapes such as a ball, a fruit, a vegetable or the like, can be obtained.
