Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide a deflectable-tip catheter having a tip section that can be easily bent along a virtual plane including the central axis of a pair of bar springs and which has excellent torque transmission. This catheter (100) has: a shaft (10) having a multi-lumen structure and comprising a tip shaft section (11); a pair of operation wires (51, 52) extending inside the shaft; and a pair of bar springs (61, 62) extending inside the tip shaft section. The pair of operation wires are slidably inserted inside each of two wire lumens (111, 112) arranged facing each other across the central axis of the shaft; each of the wire lumens has a central axis upon a second virtual plane (P2) orthogonal to a first virtual plane (P1) that includes each of the central axes of the wire lumens; the pair of bar springs are slidably inserted, respectively, in each of two bar spring lumens (113, 114) arranged facing each other across the central axis of the shaft; and a base end of the bar spring is fixed to a base end of the tip shaft.
