PURPOSE: To obtain a control device of a meter which eliminates shocks of a stopper or the like when an indicator is returned to zero and reduces negative influences to a driving system including the indicator and a step motor.
CONSTITUTION: When an indicating value of a meter represents an instruction for an indicator 4 to return to zero, a control circuit 11 outputs an OFF signal to a switch circuit 8. In consequence of that, the switch circuit 8 is turned off, whereby a resistor 7 becomes connected in series to a power feed line 6, thus decreasing a driving current fed to a step motor 1. Accordingly, the driving torque of the step motor 1 when the indicator 4 is returned to zero, is reduced. At the same time, the rotating force of the indicator 4 is decreased, and shocks to a stopper 5, etc., are eased.
