Abstract:
To improve abrasion resistance and defect resistance of a cubic crystal boron nitride sintered body.SOLUTION: A cubic crystal boron nitride sintered body contains cubic crystal boron nitride and a binding phase. The binding phase contains an Al compound and a Ti compound. The Ti compound mainly contains nitride of Ti. The Al compound contains at least one kind of compound selected from oxide, nitride and boride of Al. Content of the Al compound is over 0 vol.% and less than 5 vol.%. In a cross section of the cubic crystal boron nitride sintered body, a condition represented by the following formula (1) is satisfied. 0.80≤A/B≤1.20 (1), wherein A represents percentage of length of a boundary surface between the cubic crystal boron nitride sintered body and the Al compound, and B represents percentage of content of the Al compound based on content of the binding phase.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
