Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque converter having a torsional vibration reduction device in which a space can be effectively utilized, and the elongation of an axial length of the converter can be avoided or suppressed as a whole.SOLUTION: In a torque converter 1 having a torsional vibration reduction device 51 in which a pump impeller 10, a turbine liner 11, a lockup clutch 23, an elastic damper 38 and the torsional vibration device constituted of a planetary gear mechanism 51 are accommodated in a housing 2, the torsional vibration reduction device 51 and the lockup clutch 23 are aligned in a radial direction of the housing 2, an input element 52 is arranged while adjoining the lockup clutch 23 in the radial direction of the housing 2, the input element 52, the lockup clutch 23 and a drive-side member 40 are constituted so as to be capable of transmitting torque, and a driven-side member 41 is connected to an output element 53.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
