PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve some problems found in the prior art that, as a method for shaping helical splines at an output shaft used in a torque transmission device such as an engine starter, there was provided a form rolling method, and this form rolling method made a metal mold for forming a stopper part for the helical splines and a metal mold for forming a power transmission part separately, the two metal forms were installed at facility so as to cause their phases to be aligned to each other at the time of roll forming operation, however, since the two metal forms could not be arranged completely without any clearance to make their phases to be aligned, resulting in that raw material entered into clearances of the two molds to make protrusions, due to this fact, the protrusions had to be removed through cutting work after roll forming, resulting in that a strength of processing chip was lowered and a life of the processed chip was shortened.SOLUTION: When a metal mold for shaping a stopper part for helical splines at an output shaft and a metal mold for shaping a power transmission part are formed, their metal molds are integrally formed and the helical splines at an output shaft are formed by the integral metal molds.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
