Abstract:
To provide means that can efficiently manufacture a light-weighted torsion beam having an excellent fatigue property.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a torsion beam 10 which comprises a constant shape closed cross section part 11 whose cross section orthogonal to a longitudinal direction is a closed cross section in a nearly V-shape or in a nearly U-shape having an ear part e at an arbitrary position in the longitudinal direction and shape variation parts 12, continuous to the constant shape closed cross section part 11, which have an ear part e and which make the closed cross section gradually vary along the longitudinal direction, comprises: a preparing step of preparing a torsion beam raw material M10 having a constant shape closed cross section part 11 and shape variation parts 12; and an ear part compressing/bending step of applying bending to the torsion beam raw material M10 so that the ear part e of the shape variation parts 12 is positioned inside the bending.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
