Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stably hold, on a recording material, a toner image transferred to the recording material.SOLUTION: A pair of electrodes face each other in the axial direction of a transfer roller 50 and are arranged on a surface of the transfer roller 50 with a gap of 5 mm. While arranged on the transfer roller 50, when Rn(Ω) is the surface resistance of the transfer roller 50 when a current is caused to flow between the electrodes having a width in the circumferential direction of the transfer roller 50 of 20 mm, and Rm(Ω) is the combined resistance of a first layer 52 and a second layer 53 when a current flows from a core part 51 toward the outer peripheral surface of the second layer 53, the expression 150≤Rs(Ω)/Rm(Ω)≤4000 is established in an environment of a temperature of 15°C and a humidity of 10%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
