Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission method that transmits a bit stream by using encoding processing which can implement both of enhancement of image quality and enhancement of coding efficiency.SOLUTION: A transmission method contains a reception step of receiving a request for an image from a terminal, and a transmission step of transmitting a bit stream corresponding to the request to the terminal. Encoding processing of generating the bit stream encodes, into the bit stream, depth information for specifying the depth of a first hierarchy to which a first sub block as a transmission unit of a quantization parameter belongs, encodes the quantization parameter into the first sub block on the basis of the depth information, and an encoding step of encoding a second sub block belonging to the first hierarchy or a second hierarchy which is deeper than the first hierarchy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
