Abstract:
To provide a transmitter and a receiver with which it is possible to use an appropriate boost ratio as the boost ratio of a pilot signal when two or more hierarchies of data carrier symbols coexist in a prescribed band where the electric power of the pilot signal is constant.SOLUTION: A transmitter comprises: a first electric power adjustment unit for adjusting electric power of data carrier symbols belonging to two more hierarchies; an interleave unit for executing data carrier symbol interleaving in a frequency direction; and a second electric power adjustment unit for amplifying the electric power of a pilot signal by a prescribed width of amplification in relation to the electric power of the data carrier symbols. The second electric power adjustment unit sets the prescribed width of amplification on the basis of the electric power of the data carrier symbols and the number of specific segments, when data carrier signals belonging to two or more specific hierarchies coexist in a prescribed band as a result of interleaving.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
