Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain higher reduction efficiency in carbon dioxide reduction using a photocatalyst.SOLUTION: In a step S101, carbon dioxide is brought into contact with photocatalyst having a photocatalytic function. In a step S102, first light with a wavelength not less than a band gap of the photocatalyst is irradiated to the photocatalyst (first light irradiation step). By the first light irradiation with the wavelength not less than the band gap of the photocatalyst, electrons and holes are generated in the photocatalyst. In a step S103, second light with a wavelength of 4.3 μm is irradiated to carbon dioxide to generate vibration caused by asymmetrical expansion/contraction motion in carbon dioxide molecules.
