PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To universally and easily detect cutting resistance even when a cutting tool is used for cutting of various material to be cut and a various machine tool.SOLUTION: An evaluation method of a cutting tool includes the steps of: cutting a testing work-piece 2 by a cutting tool 4 mounted to a machine tool 1; acquiring a power value or a current value of a spindle motor 5 for driving the cutting tool 4 by a controlling device 8; and evaluating the power value or the current value as cutting resistance acting on the cutting tool 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
