PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for evaluating cleanliness of a metal slab that can quickly and accurately evaluate the metal slab cleanliness.SOLUTION: A method for evaluating cleanliness of a metal slab includes the steps of taking a slab sample from a metal slab containing first inert gas, and evaluating cleanliness of the metal slab on the basis of an amount of the first inert gas in the slab sample.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
