PURPOSE: To provide a simple and inexpensive optical card carrier device capable of moving back and force without causing the rapid positional deviation of an optical card to a lateral direction even when a scratch and a ruggedness is on the side face of the optical card and recording and reproducing is operated by moving back and force the almost entire length of the optical card.

CONSTITUTION: The recording and/or the reproducing of information is carried out by moving the optical card 1 back and force against a recording and/or reproducing optical pickup 7 by driving rollers 2a, 2b. While transferring the card, the both side faces of the optical card are abutted to a first and a second guiding means with elasticity and guided. The first guiding means is constituted of a guiding belt 24 to be carried and simultaneously driven by engaging with the optical card by friction and the second guiding means is constituted of side pressing rollers 27-31 energized elastically.
