Abstract:
To provide a vehicle cargo box capable of locking or unlocking a tailgate in a closed position by efficiently utilizing the output of a tailgate opening/closing cylinder.SOLUTION: A vehicle cargo box comprises a cargo box body 2 having an opening 11 at a rear end thereof, a tailgate 3 that opens and closes the opening 11, a tailgate opening/closing cylinder 4, an engaging member 6 rotated on the cargo box body 2 by the tailgate opening/closing cylinder 4, an engaged member 7 provided in the tailgate 3, and an interlocking mechanism 8 that interlocks the tailgate opening/closing cylinder 4 and the engaging member 6. When the tailgate 3 is in a closed position and the extension amount of the tailgate opening/closing cylinder 4 is a predetermined first extension amount, the interlocking mechanism 8 engages a lock engaging portion 6a of the engaging member 6 with the engaged member 7. Further, the interlocking mechanism 8 separates the lock engaging portion 6a of the engaging member 6 from the engaged member 7 when the extension amount of the tailgate opening/closing cylinder 4 exceeds the first extension amount L1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
