Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize an aerodynamic characteristic such as a lift resistance characteristic and a yaw resistance characteristic against a crosswind blown to a vehicle by eliminating a risk that, when the vehicle receives the crosswind during traveling, since a wind velocity of the crosswind is vector-added to a wind velocity of a traveling wind, a flow speed of an airflow flowing along a roof and a sidewall of the vehicle with respect to a surface of the roof and the sidewall sometime becomes remarkably high, and a grounding load of the vehicle is reduced by negative pressure which is generated at the airflow, or the yaw moment acts on the vehicle, thus impairing the stability of traveling.SOLUTION: There is provided an aerodynamic characteristic optimization device for a vehicle which is formed into a plate-shaped body attached to a roof or a sidewall of a vehicle, and has means for selectively protruding ribs which are aligned in each direction by being switched between two directions from a surface part of the plate-shaped body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
