Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display system for transmitting video data and displaying the data that divides a display area into a plurality of small areas, displays the video image on each small area and suppresses the quantity of the video data. SOLUTION: Transmission video data in an area close to a visual point are resampled with a high resolution and transmission video data in an area apart from the visual point are resampled at a low resolution on the basis of sight line vector information denoting a visual point position and a sight line vector of a subject and the result is transmitted so as to reduce the information quantity of the transmission video data with a high transmission efficiency. In the production of the transmission video data, the image resolution of each display area, color resolution, temporal resolution, and/or a data compression method can be decided on the basis of the visual point position of the subject, a distance up to each display area, the visual point position and a sight line direction.
