Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waistband for an article of apparel that realizes strong securement force and effective distribution of tensile force across the waistband, does not causes strain on the waistband to weaken a waistband structure, and does not provide discomfort to a wearer.SOLUTION: A waistband 100 for an article of apparel comprising at least one embroidery tunnel comprises at least one cord 114 comprising a first end 102 and a second end 104 affixed to the waistband, and an intervening portion movably coupled to the waistband with stitches 130 that form the embroidery tunnel, the embroidery tunnel configured to distribute tensile force applied to the cord across at least a portion of the waistband. The embroidery tunnel forms a series of parallel courses across the waistband, with the cord 114 being able to move freely within the embroidery tunnel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
