Abstract:
This drum type washing machine is provided with an outer box (10), a water tank which is disposed within the outer box (10), a drum which is disposed within the water tank, and a drive section which drives the drum. The outer box (10) has an outer box body (70), a reinforcement section (80) which reinforces the outer box body (70), and a base (90). The reinforcement section (80) has: a first reinforcement member (81) which extends along a first edge of a first opening (13); a second reinforcement member (82) extending along a second edge which is adjacent to one end side of the first edge in the direction in which the first edge extends, and connected to one end of the first reinforcement member (81) in the direction in which the first reinforcement member (81) extends; and a third reinforcement member (83) extending along a third edge which is adjacent to the other end side of the first edge in the direction in which the first edge extends, and connected to the other end of the first reinforcement member (81) in the direction in which the first reinforcement member (81) extends.
