Abstract:
To solve the problem in which: when manufacturing a skin mounting member, a skin material is wound around a back side of a base material, and the skin material is welded on the back side of the base material; at this time, it is necessary to pull the skin material prior to welding; the operation of pulling the skin material can be achieved by moving a welding head provided on a robot hand while contacting the skin material; but this approach has the drawbacks of the welding head to slide against the skin material or the head to press the skin material too much resulting in defective products.SOLUTION: The welding method includes a step of moving an engagement body 30 fixed to a hand 10 of a robot to a welded part of a skin material 28 and advancing the engagement body 30 to engage the engagement body 30 with the skin material 28, a step of pulling the skin material 28 by moving the engagement body 30 engaged with the skin material 28 with the hand 10, and a step of advancing a welding head 18 attached to an actuator 16 and positioned in a vicinity of the engagement body 30 to contact the welded part of the skin material 28, thereby welding the skin material 28 to a base material 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
