Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase joining strength of welding, in a welding method for melting butted base metals with a laser beam and joining the molten butted base metals.SOLUTION: The present invention provided a welding method in which respective ends of two metal materials or ends of one metal material having two ends are butted each other, then the ends are molten together with laser beam thereby joined each other. In the welding method, a butting surface 17a of the end 14a and a butting surface 17b of the end 14b are opposed to each other with a welding line 13a interposed between them. Laser beams 23a and 23b are guided to irradiation surfaces 24a and 24b positioned in the vicinity of the butting surfaces 17a and 17b. When the laser beams 23a and 23b scan while they are in parallel with the welding line 13a, strength of the laser beams 23a and 23b is vibrated in a period of the same length, and a phase difference is also provided in vibration between the laser beams 23a and 23b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
