PURPOSE: To measure total flow rate of every kind of fluid without stopping the flow by detecting the kinds of the fluid in response to an output signal transmitted from a specific electric conductivity detection electrode and finding out the flow rate of the fluid in response to a flow signal transmitted from a flow operation circuit.
CONSTITUTION: To a specific electric conductivity detection electrode 13 provided on a ground ring 14 set at one end of a pipe body 1, an alternating voltage different from an exciting frequency producing electromotive force in a fluid to be measured is applied, and electric conductivity of the fluid is detected. An exciting coil is excited with an exciting frequency, fluid flow is calculated by a flow operation circuit 12 and the fluid flow is detected. The electric conductivity of the fluid is detected with the electrode 13 and the kinds of the fluid is detected. The kind of the fluid is detected with a output signal transmitted from the electrode 13, the fluid flow is found out with a flow signal transmitted from the circuit 12 and the total flow every kind of the fluid is detected. A time when the kind of the fluid is changed is detected according to the change of the specific electric conductivity and the total flow of every kind of the fluid can be measured continuously by integrating he flow whole the fluid of the same kind is allowed to flow.
