Abstract:
The present invention relates to 1-(5-bromo-2-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)ethanone, which has anti-inflammatory effects, and to a pharmaceutical composition containing same. The pharmaceutical composition exhibits anti-inflammatory effects and preventive or treatment effects against inflammation-mediated neurodegenerative disease by a mechanism which blocks the phosphorylation of MAPK molecule and the nucleus translocation of NF-KB. In particular, since the size of the molecules constituting an SE1 compound is small, the molecules may easily pass through the barrier between the blood and the brain; thus the pharmaceutical composition exhibits the markedly superior effect of being capable of preventing or treating a neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer's disease.
