Abstract:

Constitution: 1-methylcarbapenem compounds having general formula (1) or pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof wherein R1 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R2 represents hydrogen or an ester residue; and A represents substituted propylaminopyrrolidin-1-ylcarbonyl, substituted aminoalkanoylaminopyrrolidin-1-ylcarbonyl, 1-hydroxy-2-(substituted aminoalkylpyrrolidin-1-ylcarbonyl)ethyl, 1-hydroxy-2-(substituted piperazin-1-ylcarbonyl)ethyl, 1-hydroxy-2-(substituted pyrrolidinylaminocarbonyl)ethyl, etc. Effect: because of having excellent antibacterial activities, these 1-methylcarbapenem compounds are efficacious as a preventive or remedy for infectious diseases.
