Abstract:
1-Sulfo-2-oxoazetidine derivatives represented by the following formula: (FORMULA) wherein R represents an organic residue bound to the azetidine ring through a carbon atom, R1 represents optionally acylated or protected amino group, and X represents hydrogen or methoxy, and a process for their preparation according to the following scheme: (FORMULA) or (FORMULA) wherein symbols are the same as defined above. The compounds (I) process an excellent antibacterial effect and (Beta)-lactamase-inhibiting effect, and are utilized as medicines for men and domestics animals.
