A 3-D holographic meter having a first fixed hologram (19) for creating a meter dial face virtual image, a second rotatable hologram (21) for creating a rotating pointer on the dial face, a shaft (23) for rotating the rotatable hologram in response to a variation in a measured parameter and an illumination source (27) for the fixed and rotatable holograms.
