Abstract:
The present invention provides a 3D image display device that contributes to a lessening of viewing angle crosstalk in the vertical direction and a lessening of 3D border irregularity, a manufacturing method and an irregular border reduction method therefor, a 3D image display system and a pattern phase difference plate. The invention has at least an image display panel and a pattern phase difference plate disposed on the visible side of the image display panel. The pattern phase difference plate has at least a support body and a pattern optical anisotropic layer having a first phase difference region and a second phase difference region disposed on the support body alternately in a striped manner and in which at least either an in-plane retardation axis direction or a phase difference is mutually different. In the support body, the linearity of an edge in the direction along the pattern of the pattern optical anisotropic layer is no more than 0.0195% of the length of the perpendicular direction with respect to the direction along the pattern of the pattern optical anisotropic layer of the image display panel, such linearity being the meander width in the orthogonal direction with respect to the direction along the pattern of the pattern optical anisotropic layer.
