Abstract:
A 3D shape estimation system includes a storage device, a relative shape analysis device, a characteristic point position search device, and an absolute shape analysis device. The storage device stores first learning data and second learning data indicating the illumination base and 3D shape of a plurality of objects. The relative shape analysis device calculates “an illumination base” from the 2D image of an object and the first learning data on the object, calculates “a relative shape function” which is a partial differentiation of “the shape function” of the object from the illumination base, and outputs the relative shape data indicating the relative shape function. The characteristic point position search device extracts a plurality of characteristic points from the 2D image and the relative shape data and outputs the characteristic point position data indicating the positions of the characteristic points. The absolute shape analysis device receives the relative shape data and the characteristic point position data, converts the relative shape function into the shape function by referencing the second learning data and the characteristic point positions, and output 3D absolute shape data indicating the shape function.
