Abstract:
4-Oxoquinoline derivatives represented by the general formula (I), pharmacologically acceptable salts of the derivatives, and esters or other derivatives thereof, which exhibit excellent ileal bile acid transporter inhibiting activity: (I) wherein R1 is aryl or the like; R2 is lower alkyl or the like; R3 is -A-D-E-Gn+ (X-)n (wherein A is oxygen or the like; D is C1-12 alkylene or the like; E is a single bond or the like; Gn+ is substituted ammonio or the like; X- is an anion; and n is an integer of 1 or 2); R4, R6 and R7 are each hydrogen or the like; R5 is hydrogen or the like; and Ar is aryl or the like.
