Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a 5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine derivative that is useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals and as an intermediate for electronic materials, and a production method therefor. [Solution] 2,4-dichloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine is reacted with 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, benzyl alcohol, or benzenethiol to obtain a desired 2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-4-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine, 2-benzyloxy-4-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine, 2,4-bis(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine or 2-chloro-4-phenylthio-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine.
