Abstract:
The present invention comprises: one pair of first intermediate rolls 3a, 3b that have tapered roll shoulders 3c, 3d at positions having point symmetry in the vertical axis direction, and that support one pair of work rolls 2a, 2b for rolling a band plate 1; one pair of second intermediate rolls 5a, 5b that have tapered roll shoulders 5c, 5d at positions having point symmetry in the vertical axis direction opposite to those of the first intermediate rolls 3a, 3b, and that support the first intermediate rolls 3a, 3b; one pair of reinforcing rolls 7 that support the second intermediate rolls 5a, 5b; a support roll group 12 or a support bearing 13 provided to the entry side and/or exit side of the work rolls 2a, 2b; a shift cylinder 50 that shifts the positions of the roll shoulders 3c, 3d in the axial direction so as to match the plate-width ends of the band plate 1; and a shift cylinder 51 that shifts the positions of the roll shoulders 5c, 5d in the axial direction so as to match the plate-width ends of the band plate 1. The foregoing makes it possible to roll a hard material more efficiently than conventionally, and yields a band plate having high product quality with few edge drops.
