Title:
ABC TRANSPORTER INHIBITOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/082870
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide an ABC transporter inhibitor whereby the multi-drug resistance against anticancer drugs caused by the amplification and expression of MDR1 gene, which is the most serious problem in chemotherapy for cancer, or the drug resistance of antifungal agents in mycotic diseases can be overcome. Namely, an ABC transporter inhibitor comprising aniacin or its analog as the active ingredient. Because of being capable of inhibiting the transcellular shift/discharge of drugs (in particular, anticancer drugs and antifungal drugs) to the outside cells, this ABC transporter inhibitor is useful in preventing, regulating or inhibiting the acquisition of tolerance against various drugs.
