Provided are an abnormality detection device, an abnormality detection method, an abnormality detection computer program, and a vehicle recording device capable of controlling a threshold value for detecting an abnormality according to the circumstances in the periphery of a vehicle. The present invention comprises: a detection unit for detecting shaking of a vehicle; a threshold value setting unit for setting a threshold value for determining whether the detected shaking of the vehicle is abnormal; a vehicle periphery information acquisition unit for acquiring at least one from among an image of the periphery of the vehicle, illuminance information from the periphery of the vehicle, and sound information from the periphery of the vehicle; and a vehicle information acquisition unit for acquiring information relating to the drive state of the vehicle. The threshold setting unit controls the threshold value on the basis of the information acquired by the vehicle periphery information acquisition unit if it is determined from the information acquired by the vehicle information acquisition unit that the vehicle is parked.
