Abstract:
This abnormality detection system comprises a fuel pump that ejects fuel due to rotation of a motor, a fuel supply passage that supplies the fuel ejected from the fuel pump to an engine, a discharge passage that discharges some of the fuel flowing through the fuel supply passage, a pressure adjustment device that opens and closes the discharge passage and that transitions from a closed state to an open state such that fuel is discharged from the discharge passage when the pressure of the fuel in the fuel supply passage is equal to or greater than a prescribed allowed pressure, and a control unit. The control unit detects a characteristic value indicating the operating state of the fuel pump when the pressure adjustment device is in the open state, and compares the detected characteristic value and a preset threshold value, to thereby detect an abnormality in a fuel supply device.
