Abstract:
This abrasion detection device is for a journal bearing mechanism in which a shaft orbits along the inner circumferential surface of a bearing, the device comprising: a detector that is attached to the shaft and/or to a bearing structure which includes the bearing, and that detects a predetermined value relating to the orbit of the shaft with respect to the bearing structure; and a determiner that determines whether an orbital variation, estimated from the predetermined value and relative to a prescribed reference orbit, has exceeded a predetermined variation.
