Abstract:
Provided is an absolute encoder suitable for miniaturization. The absolute encoder comprises a worm gear part, a permanent magnet (19) provided on the distal-end side of the worm gear part, and a magnetic sensor. In the permanent magnet (19), a first magnetic pole portion (N) having a first polarity and a second magnetic pole portion (S) having a second polarity different from the first polarity are formed adjacent to each other as viewed from an axial end surface of the permanent magnet (19). The first magnetic pole portion (N) and the second magnetic pole portion (S) are formed adjacent to each other in the radial direction, with the radial center of the permanent magnet (19) as a boundary therebetween, and the first magnetic pole portion (N) and the second magnetic pole portion (S) are formed adjacent to each other in the axial direction, with the axial center of the permanent magnet (19) as a boundary therebetween.
