Abstract:
Provided is an absolute encoder favorable for size reduction. This absolute encoder is provided with: a first driving gear that rotates in accordance with the rotation of a main shaft; a first driven gear the center axis of which crosses the center axis of the first driving gear, the first driven gear meshing with the first driving gear; and a second driving gear that is provided coaxially with the first driven gear and that rotates in accordance with the rotation of the first driven gear. The absolute encoder is provided with: a permanent magnet (8) the center axis of which crosses the center axis of the first driven gear, the permanent magnet (8) being provided on a countershaft gear (5A) on which is formed a worm wheel section (52e) that meshes with the second driving gear; and a resin sheet (5A1) that is provided on the countershaft gear (5A) and that prevents the permanent magnet (8) from disengaging from the countershaft gear (5A) in the axial direction.
